Motion-powered M2E charger for geeks on the move
Asmita | Aug 20 2008

Earth-friendly technologies are so taking over the world and we’re only too glad to accept them into the daily grind of our lives! The latest addition to the burgeoning brigade of eco-conscious technology is the all new motion-powered cellphone chargers created by Idaho-based M2E Power who developed the technology first for the military using Faraday’s Principle of Electromagnetic Induction. The external charger features a tiny coil/magnet generator that combined with traditional battery storage can capture even low frequency kinetic energy allowing most daily human movement to be converted into electricity capable of powering general electronic devices like cell phones, PDAs or MP3 players.

Claiming to be able to produce between 300 and 700 percent more energy than current kinetic energy technologies, the M2E charger is expected to hit the markets sometime in 2009 and we just can’t wait to get our hands on this one!
